(More customer reviews)Although drop side cribs are pretty much taboo, mu daughter is barely 5 ft. tall and has a hard time putting her baby down without the drop side. My grandson's first crib was recalled so I frantically looked for a replacement that would be as safe as possible without making life miserable for my daughter. This Sorrelle crib was a great find. They are not made any longer, however, the construction is incredible. The channels for the drop sides are counter-sunk in the frame, therefore, distortion of the plastic parts is pretty much impossible. The pin that sets in place for the raised/lowered side is steel. I feel this is as safe as a drop side crib can be. Of course, the baby is checked frequently and there is always a monitor/receivers in place anytime he is in bed. Play time is in a play yard- never in the crib.
