(More customer reviews)I had been trying to find this set at a local store so I could see it in person. Unfortunately I couldn't but I loved the color and design. If it arrived and was 75% of what it looked like in the photo I would be satisfied. It was even better though!

The black trim on the blanket is actually black velvet. The beautiful damask pattern is embroidered and sewn on and is not a flat pattern on the fabric. The bumper is half a cream with green & black outlined flower and the other part of the bumper is black and cream striped.

The main photo hides the actual dust ruffle which is GORGEOUS. Cream with a black damask thick trim and green velvet trim where it meets the mattress.

The boudoir accent pillow is black velvet embroidered with the green and cream leaves and green velvet trim. The color is spot on. It is an avocado/retro green.

The sherpa blanket is satin on one side with the common super soft cream fuzzy chenille on the other side.

The sheet is the same green with a small darker shade of green dot pattern on it. It is such a great mix of colors and textures I would highly recommend this set for a girls' room with a twist.

The fabrics are all durable and thick, it is well made.

I love, love, LOVE this bedding!

(More customer reviews)I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and detail of this set.The workmanship is very nice and doesn't look rushed.It almost has a custom made feel because of the variety of fabrics that they used and the quality of the sewing.What I like:The quality of the sewing, the fabric colors--they are not faded like what you see in some sets, the skirting which has more details than what you can see in the picture, the interior fabric on the quilt which is made of a very soft plush fabric (nice surprise--the baby loves it), its medium weight, the valance set again is a good quality.Negative: If I was being really picking I would tell you the sheets are a bit thin and not at the same standard as the rest of the set, but my mom would say I was being too picky.It also required a good bit of ironing when I pulled it from the bag, especially the skirt.The ironing was a bit tedious, but only a one time process.If you like what you see in the picture you will be even happier after you set it up and start using it. Great quality and workmanship for the price.

Cotton Tale Designs Arctic Babies 4-Piece Crib Bedding Set Review

(More customer reviews)I am very very pleased with this set, which I think is equally nice for a boy or girl. The pictures do not show the colours and patterns very well though, and I recommend browsing around to find better pictures showing the details. It is mainly black, white, soft green with a little blue in it (tropical ocean colour but softer, as I imagine the icy water at the poles!) and rusty red. The black has a few percent brown in it and the white is off-white which makes the set look softer and cosier.
The back side of the COMFORTER has the same pattern as behind the penguins: small reddish/soft pink leaves and berries on a light brown background. Might sound girly to some but I don't think it is. This reddish/brown pattern make it look great with our crib which has walnut finish, but I think it would look equally nice in a white, cherry, dark brown or black crib, perhaps(?) less good with a very light wood colour.
The FITTED SHEET has a tropical ocean green background, brighter than the velvet green bordering the comforter, but the white dots make it look less bright (makes me think of iceflakes) and it goes perfect with the velvet colour.
The BUMBER comes in four parts, the two long parts have whales on them and one short part has penguins and the other polar bears. My son loves to touch the different textures! I appreciate that the animals do not show any particular face expressions, like many other animal themed sets with smiling animals.
We have washed and tumble dried the comforter and sheet once (together) at low temperature and they look and feel like when we got them, i.e. no problems with colour coming off or threads coming loose or filling material clumping.
All the materials feel soft and are of high quality.

However, when I washed the minky blanket and put in dryer (like directions say to do) it TOTALLY lost the shape of the blanket and all the minky dots went away. I am very disappointed. I was actually going to send a picture to the mfc to see if they would send me a new blanke because this is not acceptable! The blanket looks horrible and not even worth it! So be VERY VERY careful when washing anything to do with the minky! (as you can see by my picture!!)

The fitted sheet and comforter are very soft and the eleastic holds well. The other pieces just help the nursery look more finished. The bib is a joke though. I painted my sons room a milk chocolate brown and the room really came together for a very affordable price. Don't spend a fortune on bedding that just gets pee and pooed on anyway!

The colors are nice & cool and could easily be used for a boy or girl. We painted two of our son's walls the lighter blue that's in this set and put up brown curtains and it looks really nice! The comforter is super soft & the plain blue on one side, then the pretty alphabet animals design on the other. I've washed the whole set and it's held up just fine. The mobile & valance are adorable, too! And the other little blanket that goes with this set is the same softness & super cute, as well. I wish they had more stuff to go with the set like a trash can, nightlight, etc. But with all the colors in it, it hasn't been hard to find things to go in the room. It's looking great so far!

(More customer reviews)I love this design far more than anything else I have seen, and I have looked at a lot of nursery decor.For the price though, collections from Kidsline, NoJo, and Cocalo of a similar price are a lot higher quality using thicker fabrics, more textured fabrics, and appliques.This pattern is just printed on and the fabric is just like regular cotton sheets with some light padding in the bumper and quilt.That being said, I still fell in love with this design, so I am still happy with my purchase.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this set as a back-up for my new son because it is so much less expensive than other bedroom sets of this sort.Now that it has arrived, I kind of wish I had found this set first and decorated the nursery around it.The cost of shipping is a little bit high, but the package arrived before the delivery date!The set is absolutely beautiful, soft and shiny.I do not know how well the satiny material will hold up over time, but it looks wonderful in the nursery.It is not quite as pictured: the diaper-stacker and quilt do not have brown lining or brown ties, but rather the same blue as the rest of the material, but I don't mind.It has a little more pink than I expected, but I still think it is appropriate for a girl's room or a boy's room.
